Howdy! I'm Joel.

I'm a Littleton City Council Member, a Chief Deputy District Attorney, and a very proud husband to my amazing wife, Maddie. I love our city, and I'm running to keep fighting for a positive vision for Littleton's future.

Growing up

I grew up in a tiny town in rural PA as the oldest of four boys (my parents deserve a medal for that). My mom, a longtime teacher turned small business owner, is my hero and the one who showed me what hard work and community service look like.

After my junior year of high school, I moved out of my parents' place to Ft. Collins, where I graduated from Fossil Ridge High School. I took the advice of, "Go West, young man," very seriously.

Finding my path

After leaving Colorado for college, it took all of four months before I realized just how much Colorado was truly home for me. That’s when I found my footing at Front Range Community College. From there, I transferred to CU Boulder, where I spent a lot of time trying to teach myself guitar (with mixed results) and singing with my friends, the CU Buffoons.

To make ends meet, I mowed lawns, worked for Lafayette's Open Space Department, lugged stage equipment around Boulder's Chautauqua Auditorium, and even delivered cookies.

After graduation, I became a legal assistant at a local law firm - which also meant running the front desk and occasionally giving folks a ride home after posting bond. That real-world crash course pushed me toward DU Law School, where I discovered my passion for the courtroom on the National Trial Team.

Home in Littleton

In January 2025, I was appointed to the Littleton City Council, where I'm honored to work alongside my fellow Council Members to fight for forward-looking, common-sense solutions to real problems.

In my day job, I serve as a Chief Deputy District Attorney here in Arapahoe County. In addition to mentoring new prosecutors, I've spent my career tackling crimes against children, hate crimes, and murders - always with the goal of keeping our community safe and standing up for victims.

In September 2024, I married my wife, Maddie. Together (with our cat, Barb), we're building a life together here in Littleton - just like so many others. We love exploring downtown, spending time with family and friends, and finding new favorite spots. I wouldn't be surprised if you ran into Maddie at a thrift or antique shop, either! We couldn't be more grateful to have y'all as our neighbors and to call Littleton home.
